As a jeweller and a gardener I love to combine my two favorite things! Featuring a little bouquet of hand sculpted flowers that seem to be growing out of a little flower pot this sweet pendant is truly one of a kind. Each botanical component is either hand sculpted or cast by my own two hands, and constructed start to finish in my Calgary, Alberta Studio. It is the only pendant I have made like it!
The flower pot is a bezel set rectangle bloodstone, which is a lovely dark green stone with little red flecks of iron oxide, and Bloodstone is the alternative birthstone for March.

Flower Pot Pendant // One of a Kind
♢ Solid sterling silver (100% recycled) both .925 and .935 Argentium sterling silver have been used in this pendant.
♢ I've created the flower and leaf using metal clay, which is made up of tiny recycled sterling silver particles mixed with an organic, clay-like binder. It can be sculpted, molded, and formed however I want. Once the design is completely dry, it goes into my kiln for a two part firing process. The clay reaches 1500℉ for about an hour, during which the organic binder burns away, leaving behind a solid sterling silver mini sculpture.
♢ I have cast the little daisy ring flower using the lost wax casting process
♢ The bloodstone is set onto a sterling silver plate, which has my trademark "MP" and ".925" stamped onto the back. and all the components are soldered together. The bloodstone is a really dark green and looks black from a distance.
♢ I apply a dark patina to the recessed areas of the pendant, and place it into my tumbler with steel shot to harden and polish the surface. The high points are polished to a bright shine, creating a beautiful contrast. This contrast between dark and light is what sterling silver is famous for!
♢ The process of creating by hand is slow and intentional, I use traditional metalsmithing tools and processes alongside modern ones to create all my pieces. My heart goes into every single piece I design.
